Gov. Kemp Delivers 2023 State of the State Address

Atlanta, GA – Today Governor Brian P. Kemp delivered his fifth State of the State Address to a joint session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Gov. Kemp: Key Industries Sustain Momentum for State's Economic Development

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), today announced that Georgia sustained its momentum through economic development projects in key industries during the first half of Fiscal Year 2023 (July 1 through December 31, 2022). The 218 locations or expansions supported by GDEcD’s Global Commerce division are expected to create approximately 17,500 new jobs and more than $13 billion in investment for the state. Both the number of locations and total investment amount increased over the same period last year.

Gov. Kemp Announces Administration Floor Leaders for 2023-2024 General Assembly

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced his selection of Floor Leaders for the 2023-2024 General Assembly.

Georgia December Net Tax Revenues Up 7.5%

Atlanta, GA – The State of Georgia’s net tax collections in December totaled nearly $3.21 billion, for an increase of $224.9 million, or 7.5 percent, compared to December 2021 when net tax collections totaled $2.98 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled $15.82 billion, for an increase of $966.6 million, or 6.5 percent, over FY 2022 through six months.

Gov. Kemp Presents Budget Recommendations to General Assembly

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp presented his recommendations for the AFY 2023 and FY 2024 budgets to the General Assembly today via the annual Budget Report. The items included within the report are designed to meet the state's financial obligations while also investing in the education, health, and safety of its citizens and to maintain Georgia's position as the best state in the country to live, work, and raise a family. These proposals follow yet another record-breaking year for Georgia's economy, with unprecedented levels of new jobs and investments announced throughout the state in 2022.

Gov. Kemp: Qcells to More than Double Production in Georgia, Create 2,500 New Jobs

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Qcells, one of the largest and most-recognized renewable energy solutions providers, will invest more than $2.5 billion to expand its solar module manufacturing operations in Georgia. Qcells will build a new facility in Cartersville and add a third facility to its Dalton location, creating more than 2,500 new jobs in northwest Georgia. These investments are expected to bring Qcells' total solar panel production capacity in Georgia to 8.4 gigawatts by 2024.

Gov. Kemp Announces New Communications Staff

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced the following changes and addition to his communications office staff. Formerly serving as Deputy Director of Communications, Andrew Isenhour is continuing his service to the state as the Governor's Director of Communications.

Gov. Kemp: Longtime Kia and HMG Supplier to Build Manufacturing Facility in Bulloch County

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Ecoplastic Corporation, an automotive parts manufacturer, will create 456 new jobs and invest approximately $205 million in a new manufacturing facility in Bulloch County.

Gov. Kemp Announces Grant Funds to Expand High-Speed Internet Access in 28 Counties

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced over $234 million in 29 preliminary grant awards for broadband internet expansion through the Capital Projects Fund Grant Program. These awards will improve connectivity for communities, households, businesses, and anchor institutions in 28 Georgia counties. When combined with significant capital matches from the awardees, almost $455 million will be invested to serve over 76,000 locations in communities with some the greatest need for high-speed internet access.
