Gov. Kemp Announces Additional Broadband Grants to Expand High-Speed Internet

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced a second round of the Capital Projects Fund Grant Program (CPF) to expand high-speed internet service to unserved and underserved areas. The state expects to invest an additional $15 million through this round of broadband expansion, and the funding will be administered and deployed by the Office of Planning and Budget through a competitive grant process.

Gov. Kemp Announces Second Consecutive Record-breaking Year for Georgia Trade

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today joined the Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) in announcing that the State of Georgia achieved a record-breaking year for international trade for a second year in a row. In 2022, Georgia’s total trade exceeded $196 billion across 221 countries and territories. As reported by GDEcD’s International Trade team, the state surpassed $47 billion in exports last year, breaking the previous record by nearly $5 billion and recording an 11 percent increase compared to 2021.

January Net Tax Revenues Up 1.1 Percent

Atlanta, GA – The State of Georgia’s net tax collections for January totaled nearly $2.99 billion for an increase of $32.9 million, or 1.1 percent, compared to January 2022 when net tax collections totaled $2.95 billion. Year-to-date, net tax collections totaled roughly $18.81 billion for an increase of almost $1 billion, or 5.6 percent, compared to FY 2022 when revenues totaled $17.81 billion at the end of January 2022.
