Gov. Kemp Announces Appointments to Flint Judicial Circuit Superior Court and Henry County State Court

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced two judicial appointments. Judge Danielle Roberts will fill the new seat on the Superior Court in the Flint Judicial Circuit created by the passage of SB 786 (Act 493) during the 2020 session of the Georgia General Assembly. Ralph Bailey, Jr. has also been appointed to Henry County State Court for the vacancy created by Judge Roberts.

Gov. Kemp Announces New Communications and Legal Staff

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced the following changes and addition to his staff in the communications and legal departments. Effective December 1, current Director of Communications, Cody Hall, will leave the Governor's Office and Katie Byrd will continue her service to the state as the Governor's Director of Communications.

Beginning on December 15, Andrew Isenhour will return to the Governor's Office as Deputy Director of Communications.

Additionally, Evan Meyers is serving as Deputy Executive Counsel.

Gov. Kemp Joins Fellow Governors, Public-Private Sector Partners in Addressing Supply Chain Issues

Gov. Kemp, AG Carr Challenge Biden’s Vaccine Mandate for Health Care Workers

Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr today announced the State of Georgia has filed a lawsuit challenging the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate for health care workers. The emergency regulation, issued on Nov. 5, 2021 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), mandates full COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible staff at health care facilities that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs by Jan. 4, 2022.

Gov Kemp: Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan Upgraded Two Tiers to “Silver” by Morningstar

Atlanta, GA – Morningstar, Inc., a leading investment research firm, upgraded its rating of Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan from Neutral to Silver, leapfrogging eighteen other state 529 college savings plans. Georgia is the only state to receive a two-tier upgrade. Morningstar’s report stated that the Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan Board, chaired by Governor Brian Kemp, “displayed characteristics of strong stewardship” as the plan “underwent a major revamp.”

Gov. Kemp: Georgia Ports Mark Mega Rail Milestone

Kemp today announced that Aurubis, one of the leading recyclers of copper, precious metals, and non-ferrous materials worldwide, will invest $340 million (€300 million) in a state-of-the-art recycling and secondary smelting facility for multi-metal recycling in Augusta. This new facility will be the very first of its kind in the U.S. and will create 125 jobs in the Augusta area.
