Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today issued the following statement of support following the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) release of the Healthy Adult Opportunity, an innovative option that will give states more tools to craft health coverage programs tailored to unique adult needs.

“We know that a one-size-fits-all, top-down approach limits innovation and hampers states’ ability to provide the highest quality care for their citizens," said Governor Kemp. "I am grateful for the leadership shown by President Trump, Secretary Azar, and Administrator Verma as they continue to provide states with flexibility to run their programs as they see fit.

"Georgians will soon benefit from greater flexibility afforded to states through our Georgia Access and Georgia Pathways waivers, and I look forward to working with the Trump Administration to continue our goal of providing Georgians with high quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare - no matter their zip code.”
