Ball Corporation to Build New Manufacturing Facility in Floyd County, Create More Than 180 New Jobs

Atlanta, GA - Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Ball Corporation, a provider of aluminum packaging for beverages, personal care, and household products, will expand its operations in Rome. The company will build a new aluminum cups manufacturing plant, creating more than 180 new jobs and investing more than $200 million in the project.

Dean Baldwin Painting to Build Hangar at Middle Georgia Regional Airport, Create 115 New Jobs in Macon-Bibb County

Kemp today announced that Dean Baldwin Painting, a private company providing full strip and paint services for military and commercial aircraft, will invest $21,450,000 to build a new, four bay service hangar at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport, creating 115 new jobs in Macon-Bibb County.

Gov. Kemp Names Tasha Mosley Clayton Circuit District Attorney

ATLANTA – On October 10th, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced his selection of Tasha M. Mosley as the new District Attorney of the Clayton County Judicial Circuit. Mosley’s appointment fills the vacancy created by Tracy G. Lawson’s recent retirement. In accepting this appointment, Mosley leaves her long-time position as Clayton County’s Solicitor General.

Gov. Kemp Names Charles Brooks Clayton Co. Solicitor General

ATLANTA – On October 10th, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced his selection of Charles A. Brooks as Solicitor General of the State Court of Clayton County. Brooks will replace Tasha M. Mosley, Kemp’s pick for Clayton County Judicial Circuit District Attorney following Tracy G. Lawson’s retirement from public office. Brooks has served as Chief Assistant Solicitor of the Clayton County Solicitor General’s Office since 2016.

Williamson’s appointment fills the vacancy created by Chris Townley’s recent resignation. In accepting this appointment, Williamson will leave his current role as Legal and Policy Director for Walker County.

Coca-Cola UNITED to Build New Facility in Tift County, Create 200 Jobs

Atlanta, GA - Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Coca-Cola Bottling Company United (UNITED), the second largest privately held Coca-Cola bottler in North America, will build a new sales center in Tifton, creating 200 jobs and investing $60 million in the project.

September Net Tax Revenue Up 0.7%

Atlanta, GA – The State of Georgia’s net tax collections in September totaled roughly $2.25 billion for an increase of $15.7 million, or 0.7 percent, compared to last year when net tax collections totaled $2.23 billion. Year-to-date, net tax revenue collections totaled $5.83 billion for an increase of $21.1 million, or 0.4 percent, compared to September Fiscal Year (FY) 2019.
