Governor Kemp Names 13 Appointments

Atlanta, GA – Today Governor Brian P. Kemp announced 13 appointees to serve on various state authorities, commissions, and boards.

Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia

Sachin Shailendra was reappointed as the Thirteenth Congressional District Representative.

Public Defender Standards Council

Donna Seagraves was reappointed.

State Personnel Board

Robert Joseph was reappointed.

Georgia Tax Tribunal

Lawrence E. O’Neal was reappointed as Chief Tribunal Judge.

State Board of Accountancy

Ashley Addison, Charles Cole, Clayton Huffman, and Craig Smith were reappointed.

State Board of Registration of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers and Used Motor Vehicle Parts Dealers

Jason Ivey Reaves is president of Wayne Reaves Computer Systems, a software company that serves over 5,000 auto dealerships and auto auctions in 26 states. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mercer University in 1992. Reaves has previously served on the board and during his tenure, he held the position of both Co-Chair and Chairman. Reaves and his wife, Lillian, have three children and reside in Macon, Georgia.

Ogeechee Circuit Public Defender Supervisory Council

Duff Beauregard Ayers is Solicitor General for the Jenkins County State Court in addition to being a practicing attorney at Ayers Law Office, P.C. Ayers attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate, graduate, and legal education. He and his wife, Ashley, have two children and reside in Augusta, Georgia.

Georgia Small Business Environmental Assistance Program Compliance Panel

Brittany Holtzclaw Young serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Georgia Department of Economic Development, managing operations, implementing strategy, and ensuring continuity across all divisions of the department. In 2018, Young was honored as a Top 50 Economic Developer in the U.S. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of North Georgia. Young and her husband, Jonathan, reside in Marietta, Georgia.

Board of Directors of the Georgia Lottery Corporation

James “Trey” Allen is the president and CEO of Learning Express Toys. He serves as vice-chairman on the Columbia County Commission and has served on the State Board of Education, representing Georgia’s Twelfth Congressional District, for the past seven years. Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in Small Business Management and Consulting from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Suzy, have two children and reside in Martinez, Georgia.

State Board of Education

Matthew W. Donaldson was appointed as the Twelfth District Representative to the State Board of Education. Donaldson is the Assistant Vice President over finance, loans, compliance, and risk management at Durden Banking Company, Inc. In 2019, he was elected mayor of Twin City. Donaldson attended Georgia Southern University for his undergraduate education and received a master’s degree from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Stanley W. DeJarnett was appointed as the Tenth Congressional District Representative to the State Board of Education. He served for over 30 years as an educator in Georgia public schools as a music teacher, curriculum specialist, principal, and district leader. Prior to retirement, he served as the superintendent of the Morgan County Charter School System in Madison. Additionally, DeJarnett served for eight years as the Director of The Georgia Vision Project, a statewide initiative committed to promoting and improving public education. He and his wife, Kaye, reside in Madison, Georgia.

State Board of Architects and Interior Designers

Lee Anne Cowart is the owner of Lee Anne Cowart Interiors, Inc. She previously served as the Tenth Congressional District Representative on the State Board of Education and has sat on the advisory board for Interior Design studies at Valdosta State University as well as the board of trustees for Thomas First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Jeff, have four children.
