Gov. Kemp: Korean Lithium-Ion Battery Recycler SungEel HiTech to Build First U.S. Recycling Facility, SungEel Recycling Park Georgia

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp announced today that lithium-ion battery recycler and raw materials provider SungEel Recycling Park Georgia, LLC., will locate its first U.S. recycling facility in Georgia. A subsidiary of the Korea-based global industry leader SungEel HiTech Co., Ltd., the company will invest more than $37 million in the new facility and create 104 jobs in Stephens County.

Governor Kemp: Building Materials Manufacturer YKK AP America Expands Residential Window Production Capabilities with New Facility in Bibb County

Atlanta, GA – Today Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that YKK AP America Inc. (YKK AP), a technology-oriented manufacturer of commercial façade systems and residential windows and doors, will invest up to $125 million in an expansion that will include a new manufacturing facility and additional machinery and equipment in Bibb County. The new facility will create 100 new jobs in addition to the 250 jobs YKK AP currently supports in Macon, Georgia.

Gov. Kemp Appoints Mike Register as New GBI Director

Atlanta, GA – Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced his appointment of Michael "Mike" Register as Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), pending approval by the Board of Public Safety. Register will step in to fill the vacancy made by The Honorable Vic Reynolds' swearing-in as a Cobb Judicial Circuit Superior Court judge. Until Register is sworn into his new role, GBI Assistant Director John Melvin will serve as Interim Director.
