Georgia Children’s Cabinet Visits the Sources of Strength Program

April 22, 2014

This month Georgia’s Children’s Cabinet made a special visit to Campbell Middle School to observe Cobb Alcohol Taskforce’s Sources for Strength program. The Cobb Alcohol Taskforce utilizes the Sources Prep Program to teach young people how to make better decisions about alcohol while reinforcing positive behavior. The program stresses the fact that a majority of teenagers in Georgia abstain from underage drinking through the use of interactive activities. The 8th grade leaders from the program gave the Cabinet a tour of the classroom door signs where the students were able to artistically express the ways they choose positive mentors and make healthy decisions. The Cabinet also observed an activity where the students created a chain made up of names of positive role models and dependable friends in their lives.
