Deal appoints three to boards

Ben Copeland, Jr., Georgia Seed Development Commission (reappointment)
Copeland is vice president of Patten Seed Company/Super-Sod, Georgia’s oldest and largest producer of grass seed and sod. He serves on the Georgia Sod Producers Association, the Georgia Crop Improvement Association and as an elder of the Perry Presbyterian Church. Copeland holds a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. Together, he and his wife, Kelly, have five children. They reside in Marshallville.

Kay A. Ford, Board of Early Care and Learning (reappointment)
A 35-year SunTrust veteran, Ford currently serves as president and CEO of SunTrust Bank, Savannah as well as managing director of the private wealth management department. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Memorial University Medical Center and on the finance committee for the Catholic Diocese in the state of Georgia. She is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia. Ford attended the University of Georgia and the Georgia Banking School. She and her husband, Robert, reside in Savannah.

Dawnn M. Henderson, Board of Early Care and Learning
Henderson is chief writer and web content coordinator for Memorial Health in Savannah. She telecommutes from her home in Marietta. Henderson’s children attended Georgia Pre-K where she was actively involved as a parent volunteer. She recently participated in a parent task force providing input on Georgia Pre-K for Commissioner Bobby Cagle. Henderson holds a journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She serves on the Kincaid Elementary Foundation board of directors and is the foundation’s communications and marketing chair. She and her husband, Colin, have three children. They reside in Marietta.
