Deal applauds Golden's nomination as DOT leader

February 16, 2012

Gov. Nathan Deal today expressed his support for Keith Golden’s nomination as Department of Transportation commissioner after a search committee unanimously recommended him.

“Keith Golden brings years of experience to this critical job, but he also brings vision and leadership,” Deal said. “Relieving congestion in the metro areas and improving our infrastructure throughout the state are key to economic development and increasing Georgians’ standard of living. In his term as interim commissioner, Keith Golden has proven himself as an able partner willing to work with me to get Georgians moving again. We have every reason to believe his nomination will gain approval from the full board. I appreciate the chance to continue working closely with him.”
