First Lady to host 11th annual Easter egg hunt

March 7, 2013

First Lady of Georgia Sandra Deal will host the 11th annual Easter egg hunt at the Governor's Mansion on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. Activities will include photos with the Easter Bunny, cupcake and egg decorating stations, face painting, a storybook station featuring Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Easter egg roll, a moonwalk and the Easter egg hunt.

Children and their families are welcome to take pictures with Clifford the Big Red Dog while Clifford’s Easter Book is being read. Gov. and Mrs. Deal will also be available for photos with guests from 10 a.m. to noon. We will have one of our photographers there to capture the moment and it will be found on the governor’s website the following week.

Each child in attendance will receive a book to take home courtesy of the Pearson Foundation. There will also be family prize baskets given to the families of children who find “golden eggs” during the egg hunt.

Guests attending this year’s Easter egg hunt are asked to donate a book or stuffed animal to benefit the Governor’s Office for Children and Families. This office serves Georgia by working with communities throughout the state to ensure that our children and families are educated, healthy and safe. Donations will go to children in need statewide.

Families wishing to attend should RSVP by email to kashworth@georgia.gov. Only email reservations will be accepted and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.

We respectfully ask for one family per request and requests for reservations must include the following information:

• Names, number and ages of children wishing to participate in egg hunt

• Names and number of adults accompanying children

• Contact telephone number

Registered guests are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m. and will enter the main security gate where their name will appear on the list of admittance. Refreshments will be served.
